Description: The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of north central Georgia…northeast Georgia…northwest
Georgia and west central Georgia, including the following areas,
in north central Georgia, Barrow, Cherokee, Clayton, Cobb, Dawson,
DeKalb, Douglas, Fannin, Fayette, Forsyth, Gilmer, Gwinnett, Hall,
Lumpkin, North Fulton, Pickens, South Fulton and Union. In
northeast Georgia, Banks, Jackson, Towns and White. In northwest
Georgia, Bartow, Carroll, Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gordon,
Haralson, Murray, Paulding, Polk, Walker and Whitfield. In west
central Georgia, Coweta and Heard.
* From Wednesday morning through Thursday evening
* Periods of heavy rainfall are expected across the area with the
rain bands associated with Tropical Storm Zeta as it weakens and
tracks across the forecast area Wednesday night through Thursday.
Associated rainfall totals of 2 to 3 inches are expected on
average across north and northwest Georgia with locally higher
amounts possible where heavy rain bands persist for prolonged
periods of time.
Instruction: A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead to
Flash Flooding. Flash Flooding is a very dangerous situation. You
should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should
Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
