Description: At 1049 PM EDT, law enforcement reported that many roads across
Stanly and Anson Counties remain flooded. Up to six inches of rain
have already fallen. Flash flooding is already occurring.

HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain from
earlier today is producing flash flooding.

SOURCE…Law enforcement.

IMPACT…Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Albemarle, Wadesboro, Badin Lake, Ansonville, Plyler, Polkton,
Norwood, Badin, Oakboro and Richfield.
Instruction: Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
