Event: Flash Flood Watch
Sender Name: NWS Little Rock AR
Description: The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* Portions of central Arkansas, eastern Arkansas, north central
Arkansas, southeast Arkansas, and southwest Arkansas,
including the following areas, in central Arkansas, Faulkner,
Garland, Grant, Lonoke, Prairie, Pulaski, Saline, and White.
In eastern Arkansas, Jackson, Lawrence, Monroe, Randolph, and
Woodruff. In north central Arkansas, Cleburne, Fulton,
Independence, Izard, and Sharp. In southeast Arkansas,
Arkansas, Bradley, Cleveland, Desha, Drew, Jefferson, and
Lincoln. In southwest Arkansas, Calhoun, Clark, Dallas, Hot
Spring, Ouachita, and Pike.
* Through this afternoon
* Periods of showers and thunderstorms are expected over parts
of central, eastern and northern Arkansas through this afternoon.
Several inches of rain will be possible and with an already
saturated ground, flash flooding may occur.
* Since vegetation is dormant, and not consuming much ground
water, runoff from heavy rain will be increased. This elevates
the concern for flash flooding. Also, rapid rises may occur on
creeks, small streams, and flashy rivers.
Instruction: A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
