Event: Flash Flood Watch
Sender Name: NWS Honolulu HI
Description: …FLASH FLOOD WATCH FOR ALL ISLANDS THROUGH THIS AFTERNOON…
The Flash Flood Watch continues for
* All Hawaiian Islands.
* Through this afternoon.
* The island atmosphere remains moist and unstable, and the ground
in many windward and upslope areas remains soaked from recent
rainfall. Strong trade winds will deliver abundant moisture,
while a low aloft continues to provide instability, potentially
fueling locally heavy rainfall. Any heavy showers that develop
will lead to runoff in streams and rivers, increasing the
potential for flash flooding.
Instruction: A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions are favorable for flash
flooding. Flash flooding is LIFE THREATENING. Do not cross fast
flowing water in your vehicle or on foot.
Be prepared to take action if a Flash Flood Warning is issued. If
you experience heavy rain or rising water, head to higher ground
