Description: The National Weather Service in OXNARD has issued a
* Tornado Warning for…
Central Santa Barbara County in southwestern California…
* Until 1030 PM PST.
* At 949 PM PST, a severe thunderstorm likely producing a tornado
was near far eastern portions of the city of Santa Barbara,
Montecito, Carpinteria and Summerland. The tornado will continue
to move north into the Santa Ynez Mountains around 1015 PM.
SOURCE…Radar indicated rotation.
IMPACT…Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur. Tree
damage is likely.
* This tornadic thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
central Santa Barbara County, including the following locations…
Old Man Mountain.
Instruction: TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
