Description: The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington has
issued a Coastal Flood Watch, which is in effect from Saturday
morning through Saturday evening.

* LOCATIONS…Shoreline in the District of Columbia.

* TIDAL DEPARTURE…One and half to two and a half feet above
normal.

* TIMING…Around the time of high tide. The next two high tides
at Washington Channel are at 7:18 AM and 7:41 PM Friday.

* IMPACTS…Shoreline inundation is expected along portions of
the seawall adjacent to Ohio Drive and the Hains Point Loop
Road, and near the Tidal Basin and Jefferson Memorial. Minor
shoreline inundation up to one foot above ground is possible
elsewhere.
Instruction: A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

A Coastal Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for
flooding are expected to develop. Coastal residents should be
alert for later statements or warnings, and take action to
protect property.
