Description: The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for a portion of southwest Missouri,
including the following areas, Barry, Christian, Dade, Greene,
Jasper, Lawrence, McDonald, Newton, Polk, Stone, and Taney.

* Through this evening

* Training thunderstorms with heavy rainfall may lead to flash
flooding across the area. Rain amounts of 2 to 3 inches are
possible, with potential for isolated amounts over 4 inches.

* Flooding will be the most likely over low lying areas and near
creeks, streams and low water crossings.
Instruction: A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
