Description: The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* Portions of central New York and northeast Pennsylvania,
including the following areas, in central New York, Delaware
and Sullivan. In northeast Pennsylvania, Northern Wayne, Pike,
and Southern Wayne.

* Until 3 PM EDT this afternoon

* Another round of showers and embedded thunderstorms is now
moving through producing periods of heavy rain across the
Poconos and southern Catskills. Rainfall rates could locally
approach or exceed three quarters of an inch per hour.

* The combination of wet soils and a heavy amount of rain in a
short period of time could result in minor flooding along
creeks and the headwater points in the local river basins.
Flooding could also occur on low lying roadways, urban and
poor drainage areas.

Instruction: A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
