Event: Special Weather Statement
Sender Name: NWS Baltimore MD/Washington DC
Issued: 2019-02-01T03:21:00-05:00
Expires: 2019-02-01T10:00:00-05:00
Description: There is a potential for hazardous commuting conditions for the
this morning’s commute. A period of light snow is POSSIBLE (a 30
to 50 percent chance) across the far western suburbs of Washington
DC. Snow may coat the ground across these areas, with the best
chance for snow between 8 AM and noon.

If this threat does materialize many untreated roads could
quickly turn icy, especially given the very cold air and surface
temperatures. This could lead to dangerous traveling conditions,
multiple accidents, and extensive delays.

If commuting this morning, be aware of the POSSIBILITY of
significant travel disruptions. Plan ahead by allowing for extra
travel time, and consider using public transportation and telework
options.
