Description: * LOCATIONS…Shoreline in the District of Columbia.

* TIDAL DEPARTURE…2 to 3 feet above normal. Freshwater coming
down river from Little Falls will cause an additional rise
Saturday night into Sunday morning.

* TIMING…Around the times of high tide. The next two high
tides at Southwest Waterfront are at 10:58 PM this evening,
and 11:28 AM Saturday.

* IMPACTS…

– Tonight…the unprotected area on the Southwest
Waterfront at the DC Seafood Market is expected to flood. Water
is expected to approach parts of the Hains Point Loop Road, but
it will likely be closed. Water begins to cover the boardwalk at
Washington Harbour. Shoreline inundation up to one foot above
ground is possible elsewhere.

– Saturday afternoon through Sunday morning…In addition to
flooding of unprotected areas along the Southwest Waterfront
and Hains Point, Washington Harbour will be flooding if the
floodgates are not in place. Backwater flooding of Rock Creek
in Georgetown will begin. Shoreline inundation up to three feet
above ground is likely in other low lying areas.

Instruction: A Coastal Flood Warning means that flooding is occurring or
imminent. Coastal residents in the warned area should be alert
for rising water, and take appropriate action to protect life and
property.
