Description: The National Weather Service in Baltimore MD/Washington has
issued a Coastal Flood Advisory, which is in effect from 10 AM
this morning to 5 PM EDT this afternoon. The Coastal Flood
Warning has been cancelled.

* LOCATIONS…Shoreline in the District of Columbia.

* TIDAL DEPARTURE…Around 2 feet above normal.

* TIMING…Several hours around high tide. The next high tides at
Washington Channel will be at 1:14 PM this afternoon and 1:32 AM
tonight.

* IMPACTS TODAY…Shoreline inundation is expected along portions
of the seawall adjacent to Ohio Drive and the Hains Point Loop
Road, and near the Tidal Basin and Jefferson Memorial. Minor
shoreline inundation up to one foot above ground is possible
elsewhere.

* POTENTIAL IMPACTS TONIGHT…The unprotected area on the
Southwest Waterfront at the DC Seafood Market is expected to
flood. Water is expected to approach parts of the Hains Point
Loop Road, but it will likely be closed. To view inundation

Instruction: A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides
will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.

A Coastal Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for
flooding are expected to develop. Coastal residents should be
alert for later statements or warnings, and take action to
protect property.
