Description: The National Weather Service in Wakefield has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of east central Virginia,
eastern Virginia, and north central Virginia, including the
following areas, in east central Virginia, Eastern Essex,
Eastern King William, Eastern King and Queen, Richmond,
Western Essex, Western King William, Western King and Queen,
and Westmoreland. In eastern Virginia, Gloucester, Lancaster,
Mathews, Middlesex, and Northumberland. In north central
Virginia, Caroline.

* Through this evening

* Expect heavy rainfall to return this afternoon into this evening
across much of central and eastern Virginia. With the saturated
ground from the heavy rainfall on Saturday, any additional heavy
rainfall today could produce flash flooding. A few spots under
the heaviest of rainfall could see 2 to 4 inches of rain fall in
a short period of time this afternoon or this evening.

* Excessive rainfall in a short period of time could lead to
flash flooding. Urban areas, locations along small streams and
creeks, and poor drainage areas are most vulnerable to flash
flooding.

Instruction: A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a VERY DANGEROUS SITUATION.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should Flash Flood Warnings be issued.
