Description: The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for…
Southeastern Lincoln County in central New Mexico…
Western Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico…

* Until 630 PM MDT.

* At 426 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. Up to two inches of rain have
already fallen. Flash flooding is expected to begin shortly.

* Flash flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern
Lincoln and western Chaves Counties.

Flood waters are moving down Deadman Creek, Escondido Creek, and
Eight Mile Draw.

Instruction: Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.

Both localized and distant heavy rainfall will create sudden and
dangerous flows in arroyos and over low water crossings.
