Description: THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN BROWNSVILLE HAS ISSUED A

* FLASH FLOOD WARNING FOR…
CENTRAL STARR COUNTY IN DEEP SOUTH TEXAS…
THIS INCLUDES THE CITY OF RIO GRANDE CITY.

* UNTIL MIDNIGHT CDT

* AT 1022 PM CDT…LAW ENFORCEMENT REPORTED NUMEROUS CARS HAD BEEN
FLOODED ON HIGHWAY 83 NEAR LAS LOMAS. THE LOS OLMOS CREEK HAS LEFT
ITS BANKS AND CONTINUES TO FLOOD THE LAS LOMAS NEIGHBORHOOD AND WILL
THREATEN AND MAY ENTER HOMES AND BUSINESSES IN RIO GRANDE CITY.

THIS IS A PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION FOR THE LAS LOMAS AREA.

HIGH WATER IS CROSSING HIGHWAY 77 AND MAY BE CROSSING HIGHWAY 755
AND OTHER ROADWAYS IN THE RIO GRANDE CITY AREA. TRAVELERS SHOULD
EXERCISE EXTREME CAUTION AND NEVER ENTER AREAS WHERE WATER COVERS
THE ROADWAY AS THE DEPTH IS VERY DIFFICULT TO JUDGE…ESPECIALLY AT
NIGHT.

* OTHER LOCATIONS THAT WILL EXPERIENCE FLOODING INCLUDE…
GARCIASVILLE…LA PUERTA…LAS LOMAS AND SANTA CRUZ.

WIDESPREAD FLOODING IS OCCURRING OR WILL OCCUR SOON. NUMEROUS ROADS

BECOME INUNDATED. MOVE TO HIGHER GROUND IMMEDIATELY!
